What monsters from games can do every day?
There are lots of games with monsters coming out lately, some are funny, some are serious, some scary. Nevertheless game with monsters needs to have an aim, something, that needs to be done to finish it. Ask yourself a question: what can a monster achieve? How player needs to raise his creatures, so they become more powerful, smarter, sexier? (Uh, no, that’s not a good idea :D). Game needs to have a story and introduction that helps the player to understand what he has to do to win. First idea if you think of monsters is obvious: raise your monster, pack it with armor, talismans, feed it with raw meat and send out for battle and glory! But does it always have to be like this?
On the other hand imagine cute, little, intelligent monsters living on an island away from civilization. Player meets them and he sees that they are so cool, they can learn some stuff from humans. They can develop their skills the way player wants them to. Ha! Imagine nerd monster standing along with sportsman monster, or monster with artist soul! Sounds crazy? Not really. Think for a while and imagine your own school of monsters to see how they grow up they, and how they choose their way of lifes. Seriously, games never had any limits in imaging most amazing things. How would you learn your monsters and what kind of work they would do? What would you do after it grows up, what do you think could happen later? Maybe some sort of tournaments between monsters, maybe fight for island domination? Or maybe building their own city, tower where they live together and share responsibilities?
